Bio – Kai Brothers
Kai hails from nearby Santa Cruz where his love of theatre
began at an early age. He majored in musical theatre at SFSU
and has studied at a few local acting schools as well.
A few of his Bay Area theatre credits include Sir Studly
in ‘Once Upon a Mattress”, Diesel in “West
Side Story” and Will Parker in “Oklahoma”
as well as roles in “The Mikado”, “Mame”,
and “Promises, Promises”. His favorite experience
to date was playing Tommy, a Southern belle in his own right,
in “The Normal Heart”.
Kai was a member of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus
from 1997 to 2001 where he was able to draw upon his acting,
dancing and singing talents. The biggest thrills of his stint
with the chorus was performing as a dancer in a Sydney, Australia
engagement and performing with Megan Mullally in "Broadway
Blockbusters".
His most
recent performances were in the 2008 hit, “The Full
Monty" (Buddy 'Keno' Walsh) with Stage 1, the 2007 play
"Legends" (NYC cop) at New Conservatory and the
2006 smash, “TROG!” (Malcolm) at Theatre Rhinoceros.
He gives thanks to his partner, Robert, for his support and
encouragement and dedicates his performances to Steven C.
Wallace, best friend and muse who died of AIDS.
